The chances of being compromised has to be a lot less then the millions of Android devices out there that have next to no support and an amazingly short update and security update cycle, are still regularly used with an always on connection to the internet, for accessing things from the internet.
My current phone has had no updates, nor security updates for the OS for over 2 years, given this phone is still as fast and has features better than the current mid range phone.
Ok so the apps get updates, but they are based on flawed OSs now.. I'm not sure any of our phones and tablet get any updates in my family now. The support cycle is so short compared the the products life.
Ay least with RaspberryPi OS/Debian there is a way forward.for people.

Anyway, basically what they're saying is you cannot install programs that the OS never had in it's 'store' and the message seems to be saying that.
Looking here.
https://packages.debian.org/search?sear ... olate-doom
It seems it started being added in Buster.
BUT
Looking here https://www.chocolate-doom.org/wiki/ind ... m_on_Linux
It seem v9 may have (Stretch) but that probably means Debian have dropped it from their main site (all support has gone).
So a quick search and we find
https://www.debian.org/distrib/archive
It says what apt should look like at the bottom of the page, but this shows it easier,
https://archive.debian.org/debian/README
I don't know how to search the archive online to see if it is in there, sorry.
Otherwise pop to github for chocolate doom and see if they can help, or tell you.
Or go for it and "build it" yourself, it seems there is a guide here, youll also get the newest version amd not a 6 or 7 year old version. https://www.chocolate-doom.org/wiki/ind ... _on_Debian
