To the OP. I looked at the Python code required to do the OAuth that Microsoft now require on logging into email accounts. There were an awful lot of hoops to jump through and I couldn't get answers that I understood on various well known web sites.
I then realised that all of my ESP32 devices were still sending emails with no adjustments to the code.
So it was obvious to me that SMTP2GO was taking care of all the OAuth stuff at their end. That is why I suggested you use it.
I am hoping that it is a future proof solution to whatever else MSoft decide to mess about with in the future.
