Greetings! I hope this is the correct place to post this. I've also attached a visual diagram.
I have a 5V/10a power source. The Pi 4 is powered by USB-C wired directly into the power source (cut cable—and +). I have a Drok 5V/5W amp with the 3.5 mm jack connected to the Pi's 3.5 mm jack. I'm also using 5W speakers. I've also used 2 other brands just to make sure.
Here is where it gets tricky. The amp is also taped into the power supply. The ground wire is connected to the Raspberry Pi's GND (pin 6). This gives me the minimal noise. If I take the amp ground and connect it directly to the power supply's ground, the processing noise is very loud.
I thought I was 100% sure I had this wired correctly, but I can hear all sorts of noises that sound like processing. Where am I wrong with the ground? I only want one power supply. Headphones as well as a line input to a Bluetooth speaker work fine.
