IP addresses don't need to be resolved so I suspect that isn't the problem there.
Does it resolve if you don't use the .local suffix? With and without use very different methods to perform name resolution.

- You say it can ping in and out. Is that by name or IP address?
- IPv4 or v6?
- What are the actual error messages you are seeing?
- What OS and named release of that OS are you running (no, "the latest one from raspberry pi imager is not enough)?
- Did you configure the networking on the PI with a static IP address or is it getting its config from your router's DHCP server?
