I always thought it meant it was sending a 480p signal when it did that, well, I guess that clears that up. And, yes, there was no scrolling.
As for what version? I ran the Raspberry Pi Imager and downloaded the latest 64 bit version of the Debian Bookworm OS. Then, after setting it up and updating regularly, I ran the sudo update command you mentioned earlier to make sure it had everything.
Then I loaded your EDID, the Rpi480i_EDID.bin file given your instructions. It didn't complain when I had it on my desktop and copied the path and I edited the config file to add that line to the end. The resolution manager claimed it had more than just 640 x 480.
Also, I did all of those steps. I still haven't tried your 240p file... I guess I could but then it would look strange.
