When I try with a Pi4 running Raspberry Pi OS bullseye, (actually running chromium-browser while forwarding X11), I can see the error in my terminal as :
[2953484:2953901:0627/003337.996869:ERROR:object_proxy.cc(576)] Failed to call method: org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.GetDevices: object_path= /org/freedesktop/NetworkManager: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.freedesktop.NetworkManager was not provided by any .service files
Looks like chromium at least is expecting NetworkManager to be active.
I realized that this comment was before I got my Raspberry Pi 5 and moved my Pi 4's to Bookworm. Now I get silent failure (no error at least in the terminal) when using the same process on Pi 5 or Pi 4 running Bookworm. Will check for any other hints in logs later, but not seeing anything so far. I tested with https://www.gps-coordinates.net/my-location
