First, this has been long enough ago that I don't remember everything I did to make this work. That being said I don't have a log of every command and step I used to resolve this issue. What I do have are a couple of links that I combined as a guide to get a hotspot going. This is very much a "your mileage may vary" situation, and the links I'm posting are not 100% step by step. Some of the information referenced in the second document does not line up with Bookworm so you have to fiddle a bit. I also seem to remember that one of the packages I needed to make the hotspot work wasn't installed. Once I figured that out and installed it, then things started to click and I was able to make it work. I think it was IPTABLES, but I can't be sure.I'll have to go back through my notes and assemble everything, but yes I will post my solution.Hey do you mind showing the commands and tools you used when you mentioned "old tools". Im looking to achieve the same. For any that may find this in the future, I was never able to make the hotspot work reliably using network manager. I ended up disabling it, loading the old tools, and doing it that way.
The first thing I did was follow this post which discusses turning off Network Manager and installing dhcpd.

Then I followed this post to build a hotspot:

I hope this helps.
